Falling is the second installment of the Fade Series in which Kailin Gow throws readers for a humungous loop. Not only is there non-stop action in Falling, but also revelations of Celes' origin that may cause cardiac arrest.

Falling opens with racing thoughts from Celes. Her confusion about who she is continues to chase her, but she shows readers that she's on the verge of acceptance. She may have had to change her identity for protection but she will be who she chooses to be Celeste Channing or Celestra Caine. Only she will decide.

After the attack on the Underground's Location Six, Celes and Grayson are escorted to safety and eventually find themselves in Location Four. With the latest clue in helping the Underground figure out Celes' origins under observation, the Faders embark on a mission to save their leader, Sebastian Cook.

The journey to the Others' Fortress is where the party really begins. The sequence of events is very spy-like and has an action movie aura. From hostage situations to gun stand-offs, one can only wonder how Celes will make it out alive. The stealth and suspense of the Faders makes Falling a thrilling read.

Aside from the heart stopping action, romance comes into play. The relationship dynamic between Jack, Celes, and Grayson isn't a traditional love triangle. At least, not yet it isn't. One aspect of Celes that's truly admirable in this situation is her ability to move on. She feels guilty about how her relationship ended with Grayson in Fade, but she isn't dwelling on that. She's going with what feels right and moving one step at a time.

Celes' story keeps getting better and better. With each chapter read, speculations surrounding Celes are completely discombobulated, garnering more questions. Where exactly does she come from? How much power does she have? Who is she? The answers can only be found in the Fade Series.

Falling picks up where Fade leaves off. In the heat of a life and death battle between "The Others" and "The Underground," Celestra, has discovered her unique and deadly gift, and unfortunately, has displayed it in front of everyone there. Jack makes a decision and orders Grayson to escape and take Celestra to Location Two. Celestra doesn't want to leave Jack behind and Grayson ends up having to sedate her to keep her under control. Overwhelmed by grief and the fear that she has lost Jack forever, she finds herself at Location Six, meeting a whole new group of people that are also part of the Underground. When a discovery is made that may shed revelation on things, they travel to Sweden in an attempt to investigate. The only problems is that "The Others" are also on the scene and more fighting erupts. Celestra feels drawn to location of the anomaly and upon entering finds "the source" which seems other worldly. She also finds Jack, and realizes just how much he means to her. Jack has a past also, and he and Celestra have more of a connection than anyone is aware of. An attempt is made to free Sebastian, the leader of the Underground, who is also Jack's father, which culminates in an epic battle and puts Celestra and her powers to the test. Light is shed on who Celestra really is and where she possibly came from. She now finds herself questioning if she can trust the very ones who are supposed to be protecting her.

Falling has nonstop action from beginning to end. Celestra, Jack, and Grayson find themselves in situations that test their skill and resolve again and again. Celestra also must choose between Jack and Grayson, who both end up being the only ones she can truly trust. As Celestra's powers increase, she also finds herself wondering if she can control them. Falling is an outstanding sequel in the Fade series, filled with fast-paced and thrilling action, romance, science fiction, and fantasy, and kept my attention from beginning to end. If you are looking for something unique and different, then the Fade series is something you might want to check out.
I am such a big fan of Kailin Gow! These stories pull me in so quickly and I really feel like I know the characters. I am anxiously awaiting the return of Celestra, Jack and Gray in the next book of the series. Falling was over too quickly and left me wanting to know more about what was happening with these characters.
This series is ok. The romantic plot frustrated me quite a bit because I felt like the main character came off as being too flighty. I get the point she was trying to make, I just don't think it worked right. Maybe it's just me. But overall it was a pretty enjoyable read.
I got really bored through this book! It was dragging for most of it, it was hard for me to keep reading on.
This is and amazing heart racing book I could not put down can't wait to buy the third book LOVED IT A MUST READ SERIES
Just as action packed as the first one. Can't wait to get the next one. So glad there's four books
